Found explores the profound synergy between slow-making processes and our intrinsic bond with nature. In the wake of recent turmoil and the pandemic’s long shadow, I sought to rekindle my sense of self through a renewed connection with nature. Drawing on the therapeutic embrace of natural landscapes, I searched for solace, finding opportunities for quiet reflection within the rhythmic processes of cyanotype printing and papercutting.
Found weaves together these two artforms, presenting these slow, meditative processes not just as artistic endeavours but as transformative journeys of self-discovery. The interplay of sunlight and organic unpredictability in cyanotypes reveals the joy of relinquishing control, while the meticulous handcrafted precision of papercuts underscore the beauty of unhurried, controlled creativity. Found encapsulates these dualities with a visual narrative bathed in serene tones of blue. Through these works I hoped to create an intimate space for contemplation and discover moments of introspection until I once again felt 'found'.
